What is CBD?
CBD, or cannabidiol, is a chemical compound known as a cannabinoid that’s found within plants of the Cannabis genus, and especially so in the hemp plant. While hemp has a long history of use in place all over the world, given its high concentration of CBD it's an ideal source for deriving CBD from. CBD is incredibly versatile, being included in products like tinctures, edibles, bath bombs, and more.
Is CBD legal?
While the passage of the 2018 Farm Bill has opened things up for CBD, its legality is not clear-cut. Hemp and hemp-derived products (like your CBD lotions and edibles) are considered federally legal as long as the hemp was produced by a licensed grower and the plant and any products contain a total delta-9-THC concentration that does not exceed 0.3% on a dry-weight basis. Currently the Food and Drug Administration does not recognize cannabidiol as suitable for food products or as a supplement. We recommend you take the time to research CBD its legality in your particular state and municipality, as each region may differ in their laws and regulations.
Will THC show up on a drug test?
While products that contain CBD Isolate generally do not have THC or other cannabinoids in them, our Full Spectrum CBD products contain no more than 0.3% THC content, as this is the federal legal limit for hemp and its derived products. While our Broad Spectrum CBD products are somewhat similar to Full Spectrum CBD, they commonly will not have THC.
What is CBD Isolate?
CBD isolate is a highly processed and concentrated form of CBD, often containing up 99% pure cannabidiol. There are no other terpenes or cannabinoids – just CBD.
What is Full Spectrum CBD?
Full Spectrum CBD is a hemp extract that contains many, or even all, of the natural cannabinoids of the hemp plant. A full spectrum extract usually contains a wide array of the terpenes, vitamins, minerals, and other natural components within the hemp plant. Although a Full Spectrum extraction may contain THC, if grown and processed the legal way it will only be present in trace amounts. At Live Green Hemp, our CBD products contain no more than 0.3% THC content.
What is Cannabigerol (CBG)?
Cannabigerol (CBG) is a cannabinoid naturally found in hemp that's critical to the processes in that plant for making CBD. Starting with CBGa (Cannabigerolic Acid), when specific enzymes in the hemp plant, as well as ultraviolet light or heat, interact with CBGa, this compound undergoes a chemical reaction that converts it CBG, and from there to the cannabinoids that you know best. In fact, many refer to CBG as the 'mother' or 'precursor' cannabinoid to others like CBD, CBC, and THC. CBG is exciting because it can combine the wellness benefits of CBD with an increased bioavailability for improved absorption and effectiveness.

What is the Difference between Hemp and Marijuana?
Both hemp and marijuana are plants within the Cannabis genus as different strains of the Cannabis Sativa plant. However, they differ greatly in terms of use and their respective cannabinoid profiles. Hemp, also known as industrial hemp, has fairly high levels of CBD and low levels of THC. When grown and harvested by a licensed grower and containing no more than 0.3% THC content, hemp is considered federally legal for use in CBD products.
Conversely, marijuana has much higher levels of THC, and low levels of CBD. THC is a psychoactive chemical, and the one responsible for the 'high' that marijuana users report feeling. Federally legal hemp won't get you high, thanks to the negligible levels of THC present.
